Solar hot water!

Posted by in News | November 19, 2015

In all the thatched en-suite cottages and thatched en-suite safari tents we now have solar hot water.  This means the showers are hot, and with great pressure too!

Disclaimer – of course when it’s rainy season the occasional cloud cover can disrupt the temperature, but the showers are never too cold…phew!

Swimming Pool Open!

Posted by in News | February 20, 2015

Exactly one month ago our swimming pool had to be completely replaced. Two weeks ago the new floor was in and the walls were being constructed. As of today the shade frame still needs to be repositioned, but the pool itself is ready for guests to enjoy!

Swimming Pool update

Posted by in News | January 15, 2015

Dear all, the new year brings with it a new update on our pool.

Unfortunately the pool developed several major cracks over the festive holiday and has been loosing between 3-4000 litres per day. We are unable to maintain this amount of water loss whilst keeping the toilets flushing, showers running and kitchen sinks filled – so rather than repairing it again the pool is to be rebuilt.

The contractors start tomorrow and will take approximately 6 weeks to complete the job. We apologise for any disruption this may cause, but in the meantime we’ve got a inflatable plunge pool next to the pool lounge (with free wifi) for you to cool off in (the kids love it too)!

UWA vehicle ferry update for November 2014

Posted by in News | November 5, 2014

Today we have been notified by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) that the Paraa vehicle ferry will be out of action from the 24th – 30th November 2014 (instead of 10th – 16th) for repair work. We are currently notifying guests and tour operators who are staying with us during that time advising of alternative options for game drives on the north bank.

For the head’s up; we recommend game driving in through the northern section of the park via the Wankwar gate, leaving your vehicle at Paraa and taking a boat taxi operated by Wild Frontiers along the Nile right to our door step on the south bank. The next day the boat taxi can take you back to your vehicle for any game drives/exiting of the park.

To arrange the boat taxi please contact WF on the number below and for any other details about the vehicle ferry please call the UWA as per below.
