The swimming pool has been carefully built amongst a setting of trees with a view of the River Nile and in a swooping curve below the entrance is a terrace with sun loungers and a built in sofa.
The baby pool is adjacent to the main pool and the right depth for babies and toddlers. There is natural cover from surrounding trees, but we have increased the shade by erecting a frame with shade cloth over the shallow end of the pool. As a precaution against hippos visiting the pool at night and to stop young children from running in without an adult we’ve placed a steel fence around the pool area to provide extra safety.
Our thatched pool lounge is open from dawn until dusk and contains a shower/changing room, toilet, hand washing facility and pool towels. Here guests can make use of the free wifi and relax in comfortable surroundings, and if you’re thirsty there is a small bar offering a selection of drinks.
We have been asked why we chose to limit wifi to the pool lounge only and it’s because guests enjoying the restaurant and bar area overlooking the Nile would rather not to be disturbed by people on Skype, or using the bar as an extension to their office. So try and unplug from the screen, otherwise you might miss elephants crossing to the islands, hippos grazing nearby and the beautiful African sunsets.
